Frequently Asked Questions
How long are the sessions?
Sessions run approximately 50 minutes.
How long will I be working in therapy?
We work together to set goals for your therapy. These goals are typically short term and long term goals and the address the issues of why you are currently seeing me. These goals can change overtime or therapy ends when these goals are completed. The time it takes to complete this process varies from one person to the next, and can be a few sessions or several years.
What should I expect when I get there?
When you arrive in the waiting room, I will meet you close to your appointment time and provide you with intake paperwork. This can also be completed prior to your visit which will be sent to you via e-mail. Once in the office, you can sit wherever you feel most comfortable and I briefly discuss the intake paperwork and confidentiality. I ask what brings you in to the office and we discuss from there. Before leaving, I will have recommendations and we will discuss the frequency of your visits.
How do I know if I should go to a therapist?
Seeking a therapist is a personal preference. If you are looking to experience a more pleasurable life, seeking to feel less irritable or depressed, or wanting to recover from trauma, therapy may be for you. An individual in therapy can be someone who needs support for depression or anxiety, or someone seeking to better understand why they do certain things. It is a partnership to guide you along the route you want to take.
Is everything kept confidential?
Yes. I follow HIPAA guidelines as well as the ethical guidelines based on my licensure.
Can we do sessions remotely?
Yes,
What are my payment options?

Do you have a cancellation policy?
Because I reserve a spot for you each week and do not over-schedule appointments, I ask that if you cannot make your appointment to please call or email at least 24 hours in advance. Should you not do this, my policy is that I do charge you $85 for the cost of the session unless there has been an emergency. Should you have any questions or concerns about this, please don’t hesitate to ask. Payment for cancelled or missed sessions is due at the beginning of your next session.
